Em: "Hey Tammy, do you think I could get tonight off?" Tammy: "Yeah, right. Who the h3ll do you think you are, Elizabeth or something?" Zander: "[chuckles] Yeah, Liz is always getting off. [under breath] And they call me 'the deviant'" [Em rushes to wait on complaining customers] Em: "What can I get for you, more coffee, more chili, more Beano?" Female Customer: "Nothing. You're not Liz, now f*** off!" Male Customer: "Yeah, we expect better than this. There you stand lazing about with your boyfriend, and he's not even Lucky, or anything. The least that you could do is make out in front of us!" Female Customer: "I WILL be writing a letter of complaint!" [customers leave. Zander tries to comfort Em] Em: "Man, Liz is amazing. I don't know how she does it, she works for Chloe at LnB, goes to school, paints, and works here, and her makeup is always perfect, and her hair never smells like fries, and she still has time to keep Lucky, Jason AND Nik on a string. How does she do it? What is her secret?" Zander: "No kidding, she actually works here? I mean, I did see her move some dishes off a table once, but I thought that was just to make room for her and Lucky to make out. Huh, and LnB? I thought that was just a place she went to toy with Nik to keep him dangling. And she paints? I mean for real, something besides her lips? I thought she just kept the studio so she could hide out with Jason. Wow, I had no idea, [slaps forehead] how could I have been so naive?" Em: "Yep [sighs] I guess now that you know how wonderful, perfect and undeniably lovable she is, you'll be pining after her too, huh?" Zander: "Well, I guess if I want to become a likeable character, I'd better, hey? Hmmm" [EM looks bummed] "Nah, don't worry, Em. I'm a deviant, remember? I can't fall for Lizzy, it would sully her sparkly little dewy-eyed reputation. Besides, where could we possibly meet so she could string me along?" Em: "[sigh] Zander, you rock! Even Juan wanted to be on Lizzy's "To Do" list, I know it. But not you. I'm so glad you're, well--" Zander: "--A deviant?" Em: "Exactly." | |
